BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Questions employers and HR teams ask

Explore more investigation FAQs →

When should we consider an external investigator?

An external investigator may be helpful where allegations are serious or complex, senior staff are involved, internal relationships create conflicts or your team needs additional investigation experience. We can discuss suitability before work begins.

Does every complaint need a formal investigation?

The appropriate response depends on the concern and circumstances. Some matters may be better addressed through management action, mediation or another process. An initial assessment helps clarify the next step.

How much does a workplace investigation cost?

Costs depend on the scope, number of allegations and participants, available records and complexity. We provide an initial estimate and discuss scope and cost updates as the matter develops.

How long will it take?

Timing depends on the enquiries required, participant availability and the volume of evidence. We discuss the proposed timetable and keep clients informed as work progresses.

What happens after the report?

The organisation considers the findings and decides on subsequent action. Workplace support, remaining risks and relationships may also need attention. Our mediation and internal investigation support services may be relevant.
